I am from a town called Shannon in Co. Clare in Ireland. I moved to Dubai in August 2015.
I was working in a medical company back home for 3 years and I really didn’t enjoy what I was doing. I knew I needed to move full time into the fitness industry as this was my passion and what I loved to do.
In 2010, alongside 2 friends at home, we set up our company called UYP Lifestyle. This was a company to help people reach their full potential with regards to fitness, nutrition and the mind. We worked with clients online providing fitness and nutrition plans, and went to schools to do talks about the importance of a healthy mind and always striving to be the best version of yourself. This is where my passion for reaching the masses online stemmed from.
In 2014, I visited a friend in Dubai and fell in love with the city. I returned on holidays 3 times before requesting for a year career break in my full-time job at home in Ireland.
They accepted the request and I moved to Dubai in Aug 2015 to focus full time on building my brand in the fitness industry. I could see massive potential in the fitness industry. There is so much room for growth in Dubai, so I knew it was the right career choice for me, and that is what has kept me here.
Over the past 4 years, I have been lucky enough to get featured on the cover of Men’s Health Middle East, I was awarded the Stylist Arabia Social Media Influencer of the Year, Male Fitness Influencer of the year with Sport 360 in 2018, and best digital star with Men and Women’s Health 2019. I was featured in this years’ Ahlan Hot 100 in Dubai, and I have been featured in numerous magazines such as Esquire, GQ, Shortlist, Men’s and Women’s Health UK and Middle East.
In 2016, I was given the opportunity to work with one of the biggest brands in the world. adidas decided to launch adidas Runners in Dubai, an initiative adidas have in over 26 cities worldwide. The concept is to bring likeminded people together to create a community for runners. I was hired as a coach and helped adidas Runners Dubai grow to over 2000 members in 2017. I met some amazing people throughout the year, and watched so many of them grow mentally and physically through the adidas community.
Hi, I'm Tana. I am a Personal Trainer/Model and I live in Dubai.
I grew up in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands in South Africa, and from early childhood have always had a love for sunny weather and being outdoors.
My passion was to become a professional model and after winning a model-search competition in my home country, I started my modelling career from the age of 17. I had the privilege of working both locally and internationally with well-known designers and professionals in the industry. Some of my achievements since then have been working with big Fashion brands in Europe, New York and in the East, and being selected as winner of the 2018 Miss World Swimsuit series.
As a professional model, motivator and influencer with a busy lifestyle of travelling abroad and working long hours, I had to learn how to manage and maintain a balance between work and rest to avoid burn-out. Over the years I realized that maintaining a consistent self-care routine is the most important factor in mental and physical well-being.
I fell in love with the beautiful cosmopolitan city of Dubai where I decided to settle, and since then my focus changed to practicing daily nutrition and exercise. The results have been very rewarding. I am now able to motivate others, through my own experience, to live a happy and healthy lifestyle..

“Moving out of my comfort zone is tough. Like most people, I resist change because I'm comfortable with what I know and unsure of what ... change will bring. Deep down, I've always wanted to start training and eating healthy, but I always had my own excuses to delay disrupting my routine. I started training with Peter and Starcore just before the lockdown in Dubai. When I first heard about Peter and Starcore (from Instagram) I told my self that it will be my last trial, If i failed so let's enjoy eating more and more .even if I play a competitive sport but I don't know why it wasn't helping me to lose weight, any way I gave it a try and texted Peter and Starcore and started my journey which I thought it would end like my previous one .
After my first months I didn't notice too much change and my weight was reduced only 2 kilos and my family didn't see too much changes ,but I was still happy and i felt that I would be different and yeah I continued and am still .(even if I fall every now and then because of my busy scadual and I hated to exercise when few days passed with no exercise), but I did it. In my opinion, a balanced diet is what works best for me, but every person is different. The best diet is the one that works for you, and something you can maintain with no stress.
I understand low carb, high protein all these different ways of eating can produce really good results. Every person will react differently to different foods, or eating styles, so I suggest experimenting until you find one that works for you. One that fits your lifestyle and will continue to produce the results you want to live a healthy life.
After years of experimenting with different styles of eating, I know that 2500 – 3000 calories per day works for me to stay fit, and allows to me to give 100% effort in every training session. My focus is to be fit and healthy all year around, without stressing too much on my overall body fat % and weight. With a healthy lifestyle, and making the correct choices more often than not, these things look after themselves.
Portion control is key. It is all about fitting different types of food into your weekly or daily intake, while keeping an eye on your overall calories. Control that, and you will be able to enjoy your favourite treats, guilt free.
Fitness for me is not just going to the gym or playing a sport. It is a lifestyle.
